Communion, also known as the Eucharist and the Lord's Supper,
is one of the Sacraments recognized within the United Methodist Church.
It is the sacrament whereby Jesus Christ continually offers nurture for our Christian life.
When we receive the bread and the cup, we take into ourselves the love and life of Jesus Christ
and are thereby nourished to help us in our Christian journey.
When we gather around Christ's table, Christ is there with us.
The Lord's Supper recalls the life, death and resurrection of Jesus
and celebrates the unity of all members of God' family.
We practice "open Communion",
welcoming all who love Christ, repent of their sin, and seek to live in peace with one another.
